Maxident is the seventh Korean-language extended play and tenth overall by the South Korean boy band Stray Kids. It was released on October 7, 2022, through JYP Entertainment and Republic Records, seven months after the release of their preceding EP, Oddinary.
Based on the Hanteo Chart, the sales volume of Maxident is 1,055,868 copies as of 6 pm on 7th October 2022. As the album pre-order quantity was 2.37 million copies, it is expected to become a double million seller (a singer with more than 2 million single albums). It’s the first time that Stray Kids has grabbed the ‘double million seller’ milestone.
For the record, Stray Kids is one of only 4 K-pop artists in the history of the Hanteo charts who have managed to surpass the 1 million sales (on its first day) of the album release. They followed the footsteps of BTS, Seventeen, and BlackPink.
MAXIDENT features eight new songs (including three unit ones) and the album’s title track, “CASE 143”.
