Background

Blue Hour ‘5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나’ is the second and title track of the album Minisode1: Blue Hour by South Korean boy group Tomorrow X Together. It was released on October 26, 2020. The original title, “5시 53분의 하늘에서 발견한 너와 나”, can be translated as ‘You and I Found in the Sky at 5:53.’

As of this review, the MV on YouTube has already garnered 164.7 million views.

Review

I was transported – in great force – to the kind of visual entertainment that I crave and Tomorrow X Together gives me that satisfaction.

I was on repeat mode (about 8 times in one sitting). There’s a certain level of playfulness and naughtiness (even) in the way the boys performed. The fantasy theme gives a sense of positivity and there are hints everywhere – to the kind of world the boys are visualizing in their most idealistic sense. Metaphoric yet easy to interpret and appreciate.

This is a perfect video to introduce the group to a new fan or a K-Pop audience looking for that special boyband they can connect to, as I did.
